He has a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the Universidade Federal do Paraná (1997), a master’s degree in Chemistry from the Universidade Federal do Paraná (2000), and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Universidade Federal do Paraná (2003) with a sandwich program at the University of Hamburg, Germany (2003). He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute of Chemistry at USP (2003-2006). He served as a professor in the Department of Chemistry at UFSCar (2006-2009).
