He holds a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara (1989), and a Ph.D. in Molecular Pathology from the University of California, San Diego (1997). He obtained the title of Livre-Docente (2011) in the Department of Radiology, Basic Oncology Area, FMUSP. He currently serves as Medical Research Coordinator and Director of the Viral Vectors Laboratory at the Translational Oncology Research Center (CTO), Instituto do Câncer do Estado de São Paulo (ICESP). He is President of the Internal Biosafety Commission, Department of Radiology and Oncology (CQB 084/98), FMUSP. He is also a member of Reneta (National Network of Specialists in Advanced Therapies) at ANVISA.
