He graduated in Medicine from the Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (1989), completed a Medical Residency in Pediatrics (1992) with a specialization in Pediatric Oncology and Hematology (1993), obtained a Master’s degree in Pediatrics from the Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto at the Universidade de São Paulo (1996), and a Ph.D. in Pediatrics from the Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto at the Universidade de São Paulo (2000). He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Fondazione Tettamanti, Università di Milano-Bicocca, Italy (2003), and obtained a Habilitation in Pediatrics from the Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto at the Universidade de São Paulo (2007). He currently serves as Full Professor (MS-6) at the Department of Pediatrics of the Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto at the Universidade de São Paulo, coordinator of the Division of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology at the Hospital das Clínicas of the Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto, and President of the Research and Innovation Commission at the Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto.
