She holds a degree in Physical Therapy from Universidade Federal de São Carlos (1999), a master’s degree in Bioengineering from Universidade de São Paulo (2001), a Ph.D. in Surgery from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (2005), and a postdoctoral fellowship in Neurology from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (2006). She served as a volunteer researcher in the Department of Orthopedics at the Biomechanics and Locomotor System Rehabilitation Laboratory of Universidade Estadual de Campinas (2005–2006). She was a visiting professor at Western University, London, Canada, at the Gait and Brain Lab (2021–2022). She is a Professor in the Physical Therapy Program at the Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto, Universidade de São Paulo (FMRP-USP), since 2006. Currently, she is an Associate Professor III (Livre-Docente) in the Physical Therapy Program at FMRP-USP, affiliated with the Department of Health Sciences, responsible for the courses Physical Therapy Applied to Rheumatology, Physical Therapy Applied to Gerontology, and Internship in Physical Therapy in Gerontology. She advises master’s and doctoral students in the Graduate Program in Rehabilitation and Functional Performance at FMRP-USP and supervises postdoctoral researchers. She leads the Laboratory of Balance Assessment and Rehabilitation (L.A.R.E.) at FMRP-USP. She has experience in physical therapy, with a focus on the following topics: postural control, fall prevention, functionality, muscle function, fragility fractures, elderly care, and rehabilitation. She leads the research group Study of Postural Control, Functional Performance, and Fall Prevention in Different Adult Populations, registered with the Brazilian National Research Council (CNPq). She coordinates the Balance Rehabilitation Outpatient Clinic and the Physical Therapy in Oncogeriatrics Outpatient Clinic, both part of the Rehabilitation Center at the Hospital das Clínicas of FMRP-USP. She is a scientific advisor to the Gerontology League at FMRP-USP and a member of the Research Support Center for Chronic-Degenerative Diseases and the Research Center on Aging (NAPENV), both at FMRP-USP. She serves as a permanent member of the Ribeirão Preto Municipal Health Council, São Paulo.
