Daniela Sanchez Bassères

She holds a degree in Biological Sciences from UNICAMP (1994), a teaching degree from UNICAMP (1996), and a Ph.D. in Genetics and Molecular Biology from UNICAMP (2000). She completed postdoctoral training at UNICAMP (2000-2002), Harvard Medical School (2002-2004), and the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center – University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2005-2010). She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at IQ-USP. She has experience in cellular biology, molecular biology, and animal models applied to cancer research. Her current research focuses on the following areas: the biology of cancer stem cells, molecular mechanisms that trigger neoplastic transformation, and the identification of new molecular targets for cancer therapy.
