He obtained a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the Universidade de São Paulo (1986), a master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry from the Universidade de São Paulo (1990), a Ph.D. in Bioanalytical Chemistry from Northeastern University, at the Barnett Institute of Chemical and Biological Analysis (1997), and completed his postdoctoral training at Harvard University (2007-2009). He currently serves as a Full Professor at Universidade de São Paulo. His research focuses on Bioanalytical Chemistry, with an emphasis on analytical separations and mass spectrometry. He serves on the editorial boards of several international and national specialized journals and is an ad hoc consultant for various national and international funding agencies.
