Fulbright Brazil is seeking a Brazilian researcher to conduct research and give lectures for four months at the MD Anderson Cancer Center, University of Texas, one of the world’s most prestigious cancer research centers.
The main requirements include: having Brazilian nationality (and not having dual American nationality); fluency in English; having completed a Ph.D. by December 2016; having ten years of experience in cancer research; working full-time and having an active contract with a Brazilian higher education institution (temporary or substitute professor positions are not allowed); not receiving scholarships or financial benefits from other Brazilian agencies or entities for the same purpose; not having previously received a Fulbright Chair Scholarship; staying in Brazil during the selection, affiliation, and departure process to the USA.
Candidates are expected to submit a detailed research and/or lecture proposal within four priority areas: Population-Based Research; Genomic Biology and Medicine; Cancer Biology and Metastasis; Immunology and Immunotherapy.
The scholarship amount is US$32,400, which should cover expenses for round-trip airfare, relocation, housing, food, and stipend. In addition to the scholarship, limited accident and health insurance and payment of fees for obtaining a J-1 or J-2 visa will be offered. MD Anderson will ensure access to its facilities, including workspace, laboratories, libraries, and others necessary for the success of the activities.
The selection results will be announced in December 2024, and activities can be conducted between September and December 2025 or between January and May 2026.
