Hemocentro de Ribeirão Preto publishes the lecture “CAR-NK Cell Immunotherapy: A Ribeirão Preto Initiative”

The Hemocentro de Ribeirão Preto has released on its YouTube channel the video lecture CAR-NK Cell Immunotherapy: A Ribeirão Preto Initiative presented by Dr. Virginia Picanço e Castro as part of the Inside Research series. The Hemocentro de Ribeirão Preto will receive an investment of nearly 50 million reais to advance immunotherapy development. The CAR-NK cell research conducted at the Hemocentro was one of the winners of the 15th Octavio Frias de Oliveira Prize.

Virginia Picanço holds a degree in Biological Sciences from the Universidade de São Paulo (USP), a PhD in Medical Sciences from the Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto (FMRP-USP), and a postdoctoral degree from FMRP-USP. She is currently a researcher at the Hemocentro de Ribeirão Preto, where she develops projects in the areas of cellular therapy (genetically modified T and NK cells), production of viral and non-viral vectors, and recombinant factor production.
