Hospital das Clínicas adopts new Data, Information, and Knowledge Governance Policy

Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina da USP (HCFMUSP) adopted a new Data, Information, and Knowledge Governance Policy (PGDIC) in 2025. The policy was published on May 1st by the Specialized Center for Information Technology (Neti), in partnership with the Integrated and Efficient Management Axis.

The PGDIC aims to improve the generation, organization, processing, access, preservation, retrieval, dissemination, sharing, and reuse of informational assets within the HCFMUSP Complex. Based on the principle that well-organized, documented, and verified data are more easily reusable and shareable, the policy seeks to enhance the impact and credibility of research, researchers, and the institution itself.

Expected benefits include accelerating knowledge discovery and innovation, preventing fraud and waste, reducing costs and redundant efforts, and mitigating contradictions among different areas in the dissemination of information. The PGDIC also contributes to preserving institutional memory and retaining knowledge, while ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, authenticity, availability, compliance, and security of the information generated and stored at HCFMUSP.
