ICGEB has a funding call open to researchers from 69 countries, including Brazil

The International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) offers funding opportunities to researchers from 69 member countries, including Brazil, through the Collaborative Research Programme (CRP).

The CRP covers research activities in basic science, human healthcare, industrial or agricultural biotechnology, and bioenergy. Applicants must hold positions at universities or research institutes. Grants may last for one, two, or three years, with up to €25,000 awarded annually—totaling €75,000 for three-year projects. Three proposals will be selected under this category.

There is also a special funding category, Early Career Return, which provides financial support to young scientists—up to 40 years old—who have spent two or more years abroad and have returned within the past two years to ICGEB member countries with the goal of establishing independent laboratories. Two proposals will be selected in this category.

Applications are open until April 30 and must be submitted via the Grants page on the ICGEB website, by clicking the “Apply” button.

Applicants must create an account and log in to the ICGEB website to complete the application. ICGEB provides a general guidelines document, a proposal writing guide, and a step-by-step submission manual.
