Dr. João Agostinho Machado-Neto earned his degree in Biology from CEUNSP in 2009 and obtained his Master’s degree in Clinical Medicine from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp) in 2011, where he also completed his Ph.D. in Sciences, in the field of Clinical Medicine, in 2015. Subsequently, he conducted his postdoctoral research at the Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto da Universidade de São Paulo (FMRP – USP-RP) between 2015 and 2017, focusing on studies of cellular signaling pathways in cancer. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences of the University of São Paulo (ICB – USP), where he leads research aimed at identifying and characterizing antineoplastic compounds, as well as investigating the expression, activation, and function of genes involved in altered cellular signaling pathways in cancer, with an emphasis on hematological neoplasms. His studies seek a deep understanding of the molecular mechanisms that contribute to the development of neoplasms and the search for new therapeutic strategies that may directly impact the treatment of these diseases.
