She obtained her medical degree from the Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo (FMUSP), where she also earned a master’s and a Ph.D. in Oncology and obtained her habilitation (livre-docência). She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Radiology and Oncology at FMUSP. She served as Head of the Department of Radiology and Oncology at FMUSP during the periods 2012–2014, 2016–2020, and 2022–present. Her teaching, research, and outreach activities are carried out at FMUSP and the São Paulo State Cancer Institute (ICESP), which is part of the Hospital das Clínicas complex of the Faculdade de Medicina da USP.
