She graduated with a degree in Medicine in 1987 from the Federal University of Santa Maria and completed a residency in Gynecology and Obstetrics at the same university. Pursuing an academic career, she obtained a Master’s degree (1993) and a Ph.D. (1997) in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto at the University of São Paulo (FMRP-USP). She joined the faculty of this institution in 2005. In May 2011, she earned the title of Habilitation (Associate Professor) from FMRP-USP. She actively participates in various scientific societies, serving as the Scientific Coordinator of SOGESP and a member of the Specialized Committee on Lower Genital Tract Pathology of FEBRASGO. She is an Ad hoc consultant for the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP), a member of the Editorial Board of Revista Femina, and an Associate Editor of the Revista Brasileira de Ginecologia e Obstetrícia (RBGO). She is a full advisor for the Graduate Program in Gynecology and Obstetrics at FMRP-USP since 2008 (CAPES 7). She played a key role as General Director of the Women’s Health Reference Center (Mater) from 2009 to 2013. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York, USA, from 2015 to 2016. She served as Head of the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at FMRP USP from 2017 to 2019.
