He holds a degree in Physical Education from the University of Ribeirão Preto (1998) and a direct Ph.D. in Physiology from the Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto – USP (2004) under the supervision of Dr. Renato H. Migliorini. He completed a sandwich internship at Georgia State University, Atlanta, under the supervision of Dr. Timothy Bartness (2002-2003). He completed his postdoctoral training at the Quebec Institute of Cardiology and Pneumology, Laval Hospital, in Quebec, Canada, under the supervision of Dr. Yves Deshaies (January 2005 – July 2009). He worked as a Visiting Scientist in Dr. David Sabatini’s laboratory at the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research, affiliated with MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston, USA) (August 2009 – July 2010). He served as a FAPESP Young Investigator Fellow at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICB) of USP-SP from August 2010 to March 2013. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at ICB-USP and coordinator of the Rodent Phenotyping Multiuser Facility (RMPC).
