Andréia Machado Leopoldino

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1998), a master’s degree in Biochemistry and Immunology from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (2000), and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Immunology from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (2002). She completed postdoctoral training at UNESP-IBILCE (2003), the School of Medicine of São José do Rio Preto (2004-2006), the National Institutes of Health/NIDCR, USA (2006), and Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, USA (2015-2016). She currently serves as an Associate Professor at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Ribeirão Preto/USP, teaching the disciplines of Pathophysiology of Metabolic Diseases and Clinical Biochemistry. She is currently President of the Research and Innovation Committee at FCFRP-USP. She served as Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Biosciences Applied to Pharmacy/Biosciences and Biotechnology from 11/2016 to 03/2019. She supervises master’s and doctoral students in the Biosciences and Biotechnology Program at FCFRP-USP. She is a member of the Brazilian Association of Pharmaceutical Sciences (ABCF), the Brazilian Society of Genetics (SBG), the Brazilian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SBBq), the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), the European Association for Cancer Research (EACR), and the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB). She has experience in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Human and Medical Genetics, working in molecular and translational oncology, focusing on the following topics: cell signaling and cancer, molecular markers, cell differentiation, epithelial-mesenchymal transition, metabolism, sphingolipids, antitumor strategies, and response to therapies.
