C2PO has four Postdoctoral fellowship openings

The Comprehensive Center for Precision Oncology (C2PO) at the University of São Paulo (USP) is accepting applications for four postdoctoral fellowship positions aimed at researchers interested in advancing precision oncology. The fellowships cover different research areas and reflect the Center’s interdisciplinary nature.

These opportunities are part of C2PO’s ongoing effort to strengthen a translational research network capable of integrating molecular, clinical, and population data, as well as promoting science communication strategies focused on cancer prevention and management.

Each fellowship provides a monthly stipend of R$ 8,479.20 (eight thousand, four hundred seventy-nine reais and twenty centavos) and has a duration of twelve (12) months from the date of the grant agreement.

Applications will be accepted from October 22, 2025, until 12:00PM on November 21, 2025.

Details for each position can be found in the official announcement. Access the call through the Diário Oficial do Estado de São Paulo or download directly via the link: EDITAL 1.2025 – PÓS-DOUTORADO C2PO (in Portuguese)

Summary of positions

1. Single-cell and spatial genomics data analysis – FMRP-USP

The first position focuses on single-cell and spatial genomics data analysis, emphasizing the creation of analytical protocols and the identification of cellular types within the tumor microenvironment, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Leandro Machado Colli. The project aims to compare molecular profiles between responders and non-responders to immunotherapy, contributing to the development of personalized treatment approaches.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. and have experience in genomic analysis and bioinformatics, with proficiency in programming languages such as R, Python, or Julia.

The selected candidate must be available to work on the USP campus in Ribeirão Preto.

2. Proteomics, metabolomics, and lipidomics – ESALQ-USP

The second position is linked to the Multiuser Laboratory of Proteomics, Metabolomics, and Lipidomics at the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture (ESALQ/USP), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Carlos Alberto Labate. The fellow will support C2PO projects that require omics analyses, including sample preparation, processing, and data integration from tissues, biological fluids, and single-cell samples.

Eligible applicants include Ph.D. holders in Chemistry, Biomedicine, Biology, or Medicine, with proven experience in mass spectrometry, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and proteomic, metabolomic, and lipidomic analyses.

The selected candidate must be available to work on the USP campus in Piracicaba.

3. Health Technology Assessment (HTA) – FMRP-USP

The third position aims to strengthen C2PO’s activities in the field of Health Technology Assessment (HTA), particularly in systematic reviews, technical report development, and economic modeling. The fellow will participate in projects that support regulatory decisions and public policies related to the incorporation of new technologies into the healthcare system, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rodolfo Borges dos Reis.

Eligible candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Public Health, Epidemiology, Pharmacy, Medicine, Economics, or related fields, with experience in systematic review methodologies, scientific evidence analysis, and economic evaluation in healthcare.

The selected candidate must be available to work on the USP campus in Ribeirão Preto.

4. Science education in higher education – São Paulo Campus

The fourth position is associated with the C2PO Education and Communication Group, supervised by Prof. Dr. Guilherme Andrade Marson from the Institute of Chemistry (IQ) at USP. The project focuses on the development and assessment of educational and communication strategies for cancer prevention and monitoring, including initiatives to counter misinformation and promote the value of science.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. and have an interdisciplinary background that combines at least two of the following fields: basic sciences, health sciences, education, communication, or journalism. Prior experience in educational activities and media content production is desirable, as well as familiarity with quantitative and qualitative research methods.

The selected candidate must be available to work on the USP campus in São Paulo.
